1. Who we are

Briveo ("we", "our", "us") is a web application that summarises YouTube videos using AI. We are operated as a personal project. Questions about this policy can be directed to HL_2945@hotmail.com.

2. What data we collect

  • Account information — your email address and username when you register.
  • Google / YouTube OAuth token — if you connect your Google account, we store an access token and refresh token to browse your YouTube subscriptions on your behalf. We request read-only access and never modify your YouTube account.
  • Video URLs and metadata — the YouTube URLs you submit, and the video title and channel name we fetch from YouTube.
  • AI-generated summaries — the summary, key points, and detailed notes we generate for each video.
  • Billing information — subscription plan status. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
  • Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) retained for up to 30 days.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and improve the summarisation service.
  • To manage your subscription and process payments via Stripe.
  • To fetch your YouTube subscriptions when you choose to connect your Google account.
  • We do not sell your data to third parties.
  • We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services which may process your data under their own privacy policies:

  • Google / YouTube — OAuth authentication and YouTube Data API.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • OpenAI / DeepSeek / Qwen — AI summarisation (your transcript is sent to our configured LLM provider to generate a summary).
  • Render — cloud hosting.
  • Webshare — proxy service used to fetch YouTube transcripts.

5. Data retention

Your account data and summaries are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us. We will action deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at HL_2945@hotmail.com.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of Briveo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
